I know how to develop and create audience-centered, mission-focused stories that compel people to take action, and I have a range of interests and experience. Here’s a quick rundown:

  • Started my career in journalism as a news reporter and anchor sharpened my skills in pitching ideas, writing stories, shooting and editing video, and presenting the finished product on-air and online

  • Decided to take my talents to nonprofit marketing, which led to a transition into the tech industry specifically user experience (UX) strategy and I learned best practices in website design and search engine optimization (SEO), identifying audience needs, compelling people to take action, and encouraging continuous engagement

  • Picked back up with reportingthis time as a freelance journalist and brand writer. Some of the outlets I’ve published work with — Blavity, Inc., Faithfully Magazine, GoodRx, The Daily Beast, Wix, and High Ground News.

  • Turned a creative interest — podcasting — into professional experience and have several commissioned projects under my belt as a producer, host, and editor

  • Went back to school several years after earning a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Journalism I’m working on a Doctor of Liberal Studies in Strategic Storytelling and a Graduate Certificate in Multimedia Storytelling
