Brand writing for GoodRx

One of the things I enjoy about freelancing is being able to work across my skill sets and interests. In this instance, the skill is writing for brands and the interest is health-related topics. I first started paying attention to health and wellness trends in college when I learned from personal experience about the benefits of strength training. Fast forward 15 years, after dealing with some health issues recently, I’ve added holistic and mental health to my interests.

I interviewed world boxing champion and mental health advocate, Mia St. John, for GoodRx. We talked about about moving forward after the deaths of her son, Julian, and her ex-husband, actor Kristoff St. John.

5 good tips: How a Mother Learned to Live After Her Son’s Suicide

I appreciate how transparent she was about the ups and downs of her own mental health. And the tips she gave are good even if you're not dealing with a loss.

My work for GoodRx is focused on patient experiences, so the stories I get to tell have to do with a person’s medical journey from diagnosis to treatment, and how they fare after it’s done.
